
Tallahassee, Fla. — Florida A&M University (FAMU) proudly celebrates Andriana Inkoom, Ph.D., a 2022 PhD, Pharmaceutical Sciences | Pharmaceutics, as she is named a 2025–2026 Obama Foundation USA Leader. Inkoom exemplifies the excellence and impact of FAMU’s College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH). Currently serving as Manager of Regulatory Submissions at AbbVie Inc. in North Chicago, IL she applies her scientific expertise to regulatory strategy, supporting submissions that bring innovative treatments to patients worldwide.
Her major professor, Edward Agyare, Ph.D., professor of pharmaceutics | pirector, Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences, FAMU CoPPS, IPH observed, “One of our own, Dr. Andriana Inkoom, has been selected as a 2025–2026 Obama Foundation USA Leader. This prestigious recognition reflects her outstanding leadership, dedication to service, and commitment to creating positive change. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and look forward to the impact she will continue to make.”
Inkoom’s dissertation title was: “Enhancing the Efficacy of Gemcitabine in Pancreatic Patient-Derived Xenograft Mouse Models.” Her groundbreaking cancer research focused on closing the equity gap in pancreatic care by synthesizing and testing small-molecule compounds on patient-derived tumors, with promising candidates advancing toward preclinical trials. Inkoom is notably committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists and health equity champions, embodying FAMU’s legacy of leadership, innovation, and service. She recently returned for an AbbVie–FAMU Science Forum, “standing on the same ground that shaped my confidence, voice, and purpose.”
