This national honor celebrates excellence in teaching and scholarship related to nonprofit law.
Jones was recognized for his extensive expertise and influential work in tax law and legal issues affecting nonprofit organizations. He currently teaches Federal Income Tax, Partnership Tax, Taxation of Exempt Organizations, and Business Organizations at FAMU College of Law, where he has served since 2009.

“We are incredibly proud of Professor Jones and his contributions to legal education and the nonprofit sector,” said Cecil Howard, associate provost, and interim dean of FAMU College of Law. “This recognition from the ABA is well-deserved and highlights the strength of the academic talent we have at FAMU Law.”

His prior legal experience includes serving as general counsel for Columbia College Chicago and associate general counsel at the University of Florida. He is also a former officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where he earned several commendations, including parachutist and air assault badges.
