FAMU Unveils Fall 2025 A&M Magazine, Showcasing a Powerful New Era of STEAM Innovation & Rattler Excellence

The Fall 2025 A&M Magazine reveals how FAMU is pushing boundaries and charting new possibilities.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M University (FAMU) accelerates its momentum into the future with the release of the Fall 2025 issue of A&M Magazine, a celebration of the University’s expanding STEAM footprint and its commitment to shaping the future through innovation, research, and academic excellence.

“The STEAM Issue,” highlights the people and programs driving FAMU’s momentum — from major campus enhancements to groundbreaking research and historic milestones.

The cover story highlights the appointment of President Marva B. Johnson, J.D., and her first 100 days in office. In the article, she emphasizes the University’s her vision to drive research and innovation, support FAMU’s world-class faculty and staff, and champion student success.

“As we look toward the future of this esteemed institution, FAMU is well positioned to prepare students for the careers of tomorrow—careers that demand a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, architecture, and mathematics,” said. Johnson. “We are adapting FAMU to the changing landscape through strategic execution, collaboration, and bold leadership.”

Highlights Include:

  • Shaping Florida’s Workforce: FAMU has designated 45 programs of Strategic Emphasis, preparing students for careers in engineering, nursing, cybersecurity, architecture, supply chain and more.
  • Research Breakthrough: The University has received a $7.5 million National Science Foundation CREST Phase II grant to advance sustainable materials and next-generation manufacturing.
  • Honoring Legacy: President Frederick S. Humphries bronze statue unveiling, and the Kinsey band hall renaming.
  • Rattler Excellence: Nursing’s 90th anniversary, “Year of the Rattler Woman,” Dupe Oloyede becomes the Marching “100’s” first female head drum major, and the 2025 cohort of FAMU 40 Under 40.
  • A New Era of Growth: Venom Landing residence hall, Hub Dining expansion, Howard Hall renovation, Allied Health Sciences health center, and utility upgrades improving classrooms and labs.
