FAMU's Fundraising Team adds Marvin Green, Jr. as Major Gift Officer for Athletics and the Marching “100”

Green raises more than $125,000 during his first 30 days

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Florida A&M University (FAMU) Division of University Advancement announces the addition of Marvin E. Green Jr. to the fundraising team as major gift officer for athletics and the world-renowned Marching “100” Band. In his first month, Green raised over $125,000 in major gifts to benefit FAMU’s student-athletes and marching band members.

Green brings more than two decades of higher education and fundraising experience to the role. He previously held key leadership positions in athletics, student affairs, and campus recreation at FAMU. Known for a strong legacy of relationship-building, event coordination and donor engagement, Green is recognized as a trusted figure in the Rattler community on both local, state, national and international levels.

“We are thrilled to welcome Marvin back to the “Hill,” said Anthony Neal, Ph.D., vice president for University Advancement. “In this vital and first-of-its-kind role, his deep understanding of the FAMU culture and experience, long-standing alumni relationships, and ability to mobilize resources will elevate fundraising for our athletic programs and the Marching “100.”

Green’s appointment aligns with the University's strategic push to strengthen fundraising capacity in support of scholarships, academic and athletic excellence, and national competitiveness. Within his first 30 days, the critical financial generosity he secured will directly improve student-athlete and band member experiences through upgraded equipment, expanded opportunities, and enhanced performance environments.

A proud two-time FAMU graduate, Green holds a bachelor's in business administration and a master’s in sports and leisure management. His previous roles at FAMU include associate athletic director, director of Student Activities, and head men’s golf coach.
