TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2026) — The Florida A&M University School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (SJGC) is proud to announce Emmy Award‑winning journalist Jacque Reid as the Hearst Visiting Guest Lecturer for the spring 2026 semester.

Reid will mentor and prepare SJGC’s junior and senior students through her four‑part masterclass series, “How to Be an Independent Journalist.”

“We are proud to have our students benefit from the talent and passion that Jacque brings to every project she takes on,” said SJGC Dean Mira Lowe. “As we continue to experience shifts in the industry and advancements in how news and information are presented, it is critical that we equip our students with the tools they need to thrive.”

A nationally recognized media personality, executive, and content creator, Reid brings decades of experience navigating today’s evolving media landscape. She is celebrated for her impact as an authentic, independent voice across multiple platforms.

Her expertise in news, lifestyle, and entertainment reporting spans NBC, CNN, ABC, BET, “The Tom Joyner Morning Show,” and more. She is the creator and host of “The Jacque Reid Experience” podcast. Reid also co‑hosts the “Reid This Reid That” podcast with journalist Joy-Ann Reid and is the founder and CEO of Vegan Sexy Cool, a brand dedicated to vegan lifestyle content.

Leveraging Reid’s decades of industry knowledge, the masterclass will take students behind the scenes of independent journalism and feature insights and live conversations with prominent figures in news and media.

Upon completion of the series, students will receive a certificate and be eligible for a summer internship.
