FAMU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health Celebrates 75 Years of Excellence

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health (CoPPS, IPH) will celebrate its 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Sept. 8-12, 2026, with a weeklong observance honoring its legacy of leadership in pharmacy education, pharmaceutical sciences and public health.

Centered around the theme, "Excellence With Purpose: 75 Years of Transforming Lives," the celebration will recognize generations of alumni, faculty, students, donors, corporate partners and community supporters who have contributed to the College's impact across Florida, the nation and beyond.

Founded in 1951, CoPPS, IPH has prepared thousands of pharmacists, researchers and public health professionals who continue to improve health outcomes and advance their professions worldwide. As part of the anniversary celebration, the College is launching a fundraising initiative to support student scholarships, innovative research, community outreach programs and strategic growth opportunities.

The signature event of the week will be the 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Gala, bringing together distinguished alumni, industry leaders, healthcare professionals, faculty, students and supporters for an evening celebrating the College's history and future.

"This milestone is an opportunity to honor the remarkable legacy of CoPPS, IPH while investing in the next generation of healthcare leaders," said Seth Y. Ablordeppey, Ph.D., interim dean and professor of CoPPS, IPH. "We invite our alumni, corporate partners and friends to join us in celebrating 75 years of excellence and to help ensure our continued impact through scholarships, research and community engagement."
