TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M University is inviting students, alumni, organizations and community members to participate in its annual homecoming parade at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Interested participants are encouraged to register by Saturday, Oct. 17.
The 2026 parade will feature a new route and updated staging locations. The procession will travel east along FAMU Way before turning south onto Wahnish Way and concluding at Lee Hall Drive.
The parade is one of FAMU’s signature homecoming traditions, bringing together students, alumni and the Tallahassee community for a celebration of school spirit, unity and Rattler pride.
Scheduled for Oct. 18-25, this year’s homecoming celebration draws inspiration from “The Wiz,” starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, with the theme “There’s No Place Like The Hill.” The celebration honors the traditions, shared memories and enduring connections that bring generations of Rattlers home to FAMU.
The FAMU Homecoming Committee encourages groups and organizations to showcase their creativity and school spirit by participating in the parade.
Road closures will begin at 6 a.m., with participant staging starting at 6:15 a.m. All participating units must be in position by 7:45 a.m. The parade begins at 8 a.m.
Participants will also have the opportunity to compete for awards recognizing their interpretation of the homecoming theme. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, color, overall visual appeal and craftsmanship. Three awards will be presented, with monetary awards reserved for registered float participants who have paid the required entry fee.
